So, I think that just bodes well for him down the road.”Ĭarroll clarified Monday that rookie cornerback Devon Witherspoon suffered a hip pointer in the first quarter Sunday and not a rib injury, as Carroll stated after the game.Ĭarroll said the real nature of the injury was determined after X-rays were taken. “He was very poised about this in a most difficult situation. “I think that was a pretty normal football game showing us what he can do and how he can make things happen and be comfortable in the moment and all that,” Carroll said.
